Waiting for gravity lull

So very tired. Mostly busy with health-appointments, a good process, but also hard. Missing my blog, your blogs, but too much for now. Decided I needed a fun art-project and started crocheting a Rapunzel-dress. Looking at it today, when I'm hugging the walls and can't resist the force of gravity for long I'm struck by her verticality and envious of it. She (I tend to see my dresses as she's) was crocheted with a very small hook (no. 2) as I wanted the crochet to be tight, almost stiff, befitting a tower. The dress can just about stand alone. She is the first of a group of three fairy-tale figures, small crochet-sculptures (i.e. not made to hang on walls), using stands, which I'd like to have made especially. For now the dress hangs on a cable needle, which adds an interesting aspect.

Materials: synthetic yarn, artificial hair, cable needle
Dimensions: 19 cm x 78 cm x 4 cm

Wow! You can still make something as intricate and complex as then even when you're ill! You are amazing. In fact, that should be your mantra for the week..
"I am amazing and Kruse thinks so too."

dear Marjojo, i'm thrilled to see this and hear your thoughts...!
she is so majestic and beautiful. i like it that she is not hanging on the walls. love the cable needle on her. it adds a fierceness (danger?) to her already powerful regal presence. the crochet pattern on her dress makes me think of waves and snakes and neverendingness. and you know i love the hair, so blond and so freakishly fitting.

Oh this is wonderful! To find three messages left overnight and all so positive and affectionate - thank you. Confirms and strengthens my sense of connection and continuity with my small but fine community of blogger friends. I am amazing, you are amazing, we are amazing...

this vertical sculpture seems so logical to me...
the force of gravity...
...how do I imagine a cloth for you: the most beautiful colours meandering the floor with arms emerging to all sides...the pure expression of creativity!
Hug the walls! They will bloom!

this is work after my own heart in content, materials and so. what is the scale? already it/she looks so vulnerable yet compact, contained maybe due to the nature of tight crochet work (inpenetrable). awaiting the trilogy!
