It's like paper dolls gone wrong, like the pieces should fit together, but absurdly don't... and why don't they, why is the wave a salute, how is it possible for horror and innocence to exist in that single moment when the little girl raises her arm...mm...the word absurd keeps returning...and I understand why you say that you want the DVD in your house, that you should look the horror in the eye but can only glance sideways...i do very much understand this quandary and we've discussed this before... where to place horror and tragedy...

PS what you write about LR's children and a child growing up in a dysfunctional family and thinking they are normal, shedding reshaping slowly pushing desire through a misshapen hole until the limbs don't grow quite right...that is brilliant...so pertinent...
